This was the first goggles with the flexible strapholders I made... Funny thing, It was crafted as a custom pair, but the design was so succesfull, so I decided to make it my regular.... Heh - many other craftsmen at e-bay make similar goggles with the flexible strapholders - qngyen, Ted Sweed and some other guys....Yep, they are cool...

Pleas be more clear - I don't qite understand what part do you mean? Frame maybe? If so, they made from brass. I used some powertools - mostly lathe mill and angle grinder with different abbrasive discs.

I'm not really sure what to call it or how to describe it lol i think u called it the flexible strap holder? its the two metal bars on both sides that connect the leather strap to the goggles them self does that help? I'm really sorry if I'm being confusing

AH! Now I get it. I call it "flex-arm" for the lack of more suitable name. It is quite simple to make this, if you have proper materials to start with. These are made from brass wire - 2.5mm in diameter. Firts you need to cut straight peices, about 120mm long or so. After that you take these and hammer it on the anvil (or any other solid flat metal surface), using light weight hammer with flat head - you need to get from round shape of the wire to sqare shape. This process also hardens the wire very much. After that, you need to draw a right curve on the sheet of paper - it must resemble the future form of the flex-arm, and will also serve as a pattern, so every flex arm will be identical to one another. Then, you may start bending the wire, using pair of small pliers and, perhaps some round object for making right curve. Your target is to get each peice to be identical to the drawn pattern. I will be tricky at the begining and you shouldn't expect everything to go right right after you start - you should prepare some spare material just in case some part will brake apart afte too much bending. If you have a gas torch, you can heat the brass and it will bend much easier, but it will weaken the material. Personaly, I prefer to work with "cold metal", but it's up to you to decide. Anyway, assuming you got all the flex-arms bended in identical shape, you will need to make those flat ends - use the same hammer and anvil to simply flatten the brass untill there will be enough space to rill a hole for a bolt - these are attachment parts. Be very accurate here, othervise you will make those ends too thin and they'll simply brake. After that, use bolts to attach flex arms to the goggles' frames. Thats about it. I know that it sounds bit coplicated, and, well, yes it is. But only untill you get used to it. Actually complexity of making flex-arms is the only reason, why just three steampunk vendors make goggles with flex-arms on regular basis - mr. Ted Sweid, someone with nick QNGyen out there at ebay, and me. This is actually a hell of a job, if you're a begginer craftsman, but in case you have some experience with goggle making and working with brass - I encorage you to try to make these. In any case, I wish you luck in creation of things!
