Belt set. Some needed stuff for any volunteer on the patrol. Or in the pub. Or in the barracks.

"Ehen" broad dagger - "ehen" is an abbrevation from "ένα χτύπημα, ένας νεκρός", that in translation from colonial simple greek "glossa", means literally "one hit - one corpse". An ugly, unballanced, very, very heavy dagger, or to be more exact, triangle of badly tempered steel forged to the handle. Cheap, crude, cumbersome, yet deadly to anybody who doesn't wear a steel breastplate, and cirtainly an overkill. Wooden scabbard is covered with leather.

Aluminium water flask - actually rarely filled with water, but with home-brewed beer or herbal tea mixed with some spirits - a brew of choice for a volunteer, during a long patrol in slums.

Small pouch - just a small pouch for carrying small things, like cigarette-case, lighter and some change. Handstitched by the owner, as well as other leather accesories, that he may have. Some brass bolts and nuts used instead of rivets.

Waist-belt - made from a very thick leather, supported with suspending shoulder belt. This belt is usually (but not tooday) used to carry not only melee weapon, but also a small firearm and/or ammo pouches. Also helps to suspend weight of the chainmail, lifting some pressure from shoulders

Hip pouch - as you may assume, used to carry some bigger things, that wouldn't fit the small pouch. Made from thick leather, with some cogs used as decoration.

Hip belt - made from some leather leftovers, initially too short to form a normal belt. This scraps were put together with some loops and rivets.

Harmonica - not the best alternative to an anatoray smallpipes, much loved by a simple folk, but hey, you can put it on your belt!

Really amazing! How did you work out the arrangement of everything to ensure it all sat as you wanted?

Well, the belt set is a thing must be arranged in a way to ensure comfort and fast reach to everything you need...So, yes. Anyway, this is not some ready design...You may call it a scetch. Just to make a proper photoshot of the character. This set lacks more serious hip bag with more storage space, it also lacks holster for a firearm..and a LOT of other things that could be useful during patrol.

How long does it take to put on, if you don't mind me asking? :B

really not too long. Two minutes should be enough. It is not so complicated, since it is warn over chainmail or maybe some "soft" armour, like quilted gambesin made of leather or fabric. You dont have those belt loops like those on your pants, so it is relatevly quick to put on.

Did you make the hip belt and attachments yourself? I am kind of curious mostly, at how you do the belt tie in the third picture.

Awesome pictures none the less!

Yes, I made all that stuff myself (exscept for the flask), including goggles, chainmail, dagger etc...
As for the belt tie....erm, how should I describe it..Well, you turn the belt downward, then put it under itself, twisting it upwards - and you'll have somekind of the loop or knot - then you put the end of the belt into it. Mmm.. I know it's kinda crappy description, but i'm not speaking english that well.. The key is, that I put a "sam brown" brass stud at the end of the belt, and then I make the tie, I insert this stud into one of the spare belt holes, so that holds the tie.

Anyway, thanx for the fav!
